The Bible

In reading the Bible, you must remember that the Bible is a spiritual book. You simply can’t understand it as you would some secular literary work.

First off, we must accept that God had His hand in it as to the writing of the Bible.

2Pe 1:19 ¶ We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:
2Pe 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2Pe 1:21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.

Notice here that Peter is stating that the written words of God is more power than the verbal. Verbal usage is very fluid but the written usage is solid in its foundation. We can stand on the written word, the Bible. You can look at it, feel it and see it. Once its written, its irrevocable. It’s set in stone. God so loved us that he gave us his binding and steadfast word. It NEVER changes, never! It never is outdated as some would have you believe. It has its application for us today, right now, right here.

Furthermore, verse 21 says that the word of God came from God Himself, the Holy Ghost. Therefore, its not just a bunch of men’s theories or opinions. The Bible is from God Almighty. It is inspired by God Himself. Think about that, that book, the Bible, that you hold in your hand is from God. Yes, God can inspire and preserve His Word. If He can’t inspire it OR preserve it, then why are we wasting our time.

Let me assure you, God can, God has preserved and inspired His Word.
