God’s Word-the King James Version

Year ago, when I first started studying the bible, I came across at verse that kinda stumped me, at least the last part of it. It is: Ps 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.

Now, I got the first part about, The words of the Lord are pure words. Its from God, so its got to be pure, infallible and without errors. To me, that’s a no brainer. Like it says, The words of the Lord.

Now the second part had me stumped. The part about, as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Silver, like so many elements, are put in a furnace to purify them, to get the impurities out. This is done in the furnace, but this says furnace of “of earth”. Earth? God’s Word was purified here on earth!

Next, 7 times, not 8 or 9 but 7 times, this tells me His Word has an absolute purity at 7 times.

Their are 7 translations that lay the foundation for the King James Bible with this version being the 7th!

In the main, the foundations are like this:

  1. Gothic-(apostles-500 AD)
  2. Angel-Saxon (500-1000 AD)
  3. Pre-Wycliffe (1000-1400 AD)
  4. Wycliffe (1384 AD)
  5. Tyndale/Cloverdale/Great/Geneva (1526-1558 AD)
  6. Bishops (1668-1611)
  7. King James Bible (1611-glory)        ***********PURIFIED 7 TIMES!********  Isa 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. These 7 Bibles periods flow from the pure “spring of water, whose waters fail not”.

Today, right here, right now, We have God’s infallible and inerrant!!

Think about that, we have God’s Word.
